Blogs started as personal on-line dairies, but have been come to be used for many different purposes, from publishing articles and opinion pieces to corporate news.

What makes a blog? It’s just a way to structure information: regularly updated, with the content displayed in reverse chronological order. They are usually open to interaction with their readers, and are often informal and opinionated in tone.

Each item of content in a blog is called a blog post, or simply post for short. Some people call each post a blog – this is incorrect.
